About Blue Wind Gourmet

Blue Wind Gourmet is owned and managed by Rob Plant. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, during which he apprenticed with Marcel Desaulniers at the Trellis restaurant in Williamsburg, Virginia. After selling his restaurant and bakery in New York, Rob and his family moved to Tortola in the BVIs, where he managed a small island restaurant/resort.  Rob came to Saint Mary's County in 1996 to open The Tavern in Wildewood.  He was GM/chef there until 2001.  Rob also opened and was GM/chef at The JT Daugherty Conference Center until 2003.  He is no longer affiliated with either restaurant in any way.  These days, Rob's talents and energies are devoted to Blue Wind, which is an idea that has been "fermenting" for quite a while.  Right now his focus is developing and refining Blue Wind-there are no current plans for expansion or collaboration
